    Description

1951 Vogue Doll the1st  to actually be called "Ginny." a Wavette Hair Doll w/ curlers, cape and Heart. This is a transitional doll used in the promotion of the "Wavette Hair Doll" compelete with rollers, cape and "I Love You" heart as many Vogue promotions did. Her wig is made from "Nutex" different than the Ginnys that came before or after, super shinny,  almost like early Barbie pinytail hair but slightly larger gauge. She has wonderful color and a personality all her own. Her eyes  are copper color. Her dress is identical the all the pictures I could find: red/white, gree/white, navy/white but this one is pink. I did have to wash it because it was so dirty. It is untagged as many early dresses were and I am guessing it is a rare color.  The container for her curlers has been replaced with a later one but completes the look and feel of the doll. This is a very rare transitional doll and is the very 1st in the Vogue line to be called "Ginny" all the other Ginnys followed beginning in 1952 after this very successful promotion in 1951. Have fun and check out my other Ginny listings.
