    Description

This is a 1952 Vogue Ginny doll with painted lashes and brown sleep eyes. She’s wearing a tagged Tiny Miss Series #42 Glad dress and the green hat that came with it. The auction includes both the doll and the outfit.
The doll is marked VOGUE DOLL on the back. She’s is in very good condition with a beautiful face and rosy cheeks. Her brown eyes need a little help to close, but her arms and legs work just fine. Her blonde hair is all there.
Her red cotton dress with white trim is also in very good condition. Only the berries on her dress have some wear on the ends. Her green straw hat also has berries where you can see that some of the coloring has flaked off.  The elastic is tight. She comes with red Ginny shoes, white socks and a Knickerbocker heart shaped plastic doll stand that was used in the 1950’s
    .
This was my favorite doll because she had blonde hair and brown eyes, just like me!
In the early 1950s, my best friend's mother worked at the Vogue factory in Medford MA, not far from my house. She often used to bring me Ginny and Ginnette outfits from that factory, and I would play with them with great loving care. I don't specifically remember if she brought me these particular items, or if perhaps Santa left them under the tree. My Ginny days are over now, and I am finding new homes for these items, where they will be appreciated for the link to the past that they are.
