    Description

    This auction is for an original ticket for the "Night of Stars" "Stars of Stage, Screen & Radio" a benefit program presented by the Italian Welfare Council of Chicago. It was held at the Chicago Stadium on Saturday, May 23, 1953. Some of the headliners at the benefit that night were Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, and Rocky Marciano. I'll include a photocopy of a newspaper article from the day after the benefit that lists those stars and talks about the benefit. The ticket measures 5-1/2" x 2-1/8". The back of the ticket has "Compliments of Alderman Alfred J. Cilella - 36th Ward, 5424 W. North Ave" stamped on the back. The ticket is in good condition except for three circular punch holes in it (see photos) - the corners are slightly rounded - there is light color fading around the edges - there is a light 2" scuff along the left edge.
